I. Abstractions
There’s a gift in putting the world together; but there’s also a gift in deconstructing it. Part of what I’m trying to do in my abstract paintings is to discover the fundamental energy, the fundamental essence of a thought, an idea or a visual memory. Abstract expressionistic paintings touch the magic of energy; it’s an energy forever pulsing under the skin of life. Color. Shape. Texture. Flow. There’s the thing, say a flower or landscape or vase on the kitchen table, but then there’s the energy under the thing. That’s what I’m after in these paintings. It’s true that abstract paintings are no longer in vogue. Fine. I still love them and find that they speak over and over again Enjoy! RSC
